Folding Glass Doors for a Poolside Villa
Example application: fully opening folding glass doors connecting the living room with the pool terrace.
Aluminium Door & Window Systems
Hinged glass panels fold and stack to one side along a track, opening a wide span almost completely.
Folding glass door systems consist of hinged glass panels that run on top and bottom tracks and fold neatly to one side when opened. Once open, the panels stack together and the opening is almost entirely free. Metalux measures, manufactures and installs the whole system in-house.
The system suits projects that aim to blend an interior with a terrace or garden without a visual break. Typical settings include villa living rooms, restaurant and cafe frontages, the transition between a hotel lobby and its terrace, and office areas that open onto the outdoors.
As panel count increases, keeping the bottom track clean and maintaining the carrier rollers becomes important for smooth operation. The threshold type, recessed or surface-mounted, should be settled at design stage based on floor level and drainage needs. On exposed facades, profile section and glass thickness are sized to the actual opening dimensions.
